Craig Guyton,
Mayor of Euharlee

Mayor Guyton graduated from Cartersville High School in 1990. Following graduation, he attended Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State University. He attends Cartersville First Baptist where he sings on the praise team and in the choir. He also serves his church through his work as a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher.  He and his wife, Donna, both participate in the Marriage and More ministry.

Craig married Donna in 1993. They have two children: a daughter, Bailey (25), who graduated from Kennesaw State University and currently works as an Accountant, and a son, Griffin (21), who is a Senior at Middle Georgia State University studying Aviation.

Mayor Guyton was elected to the postion of Mayor in November of 2021, with his term beginning in January of 2022.

Tim Abbott

Tim Abbott has been with Kaiser Permanente Health Care since 2000 and serves as National New Member Welcome Program Director focusing on Marketing Program Innovation and Consumer Engagement Strategy. Prior to that, he worked with Marriott Hotels and served as a U.S. Navy Journalist from 1982-1985. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Communication from Kennesaw State University. He and his wife Lisa adopted three children in 2003 ages 3, 6, and 10 weeks; all three are now attending Cartersville High School. Tim loves to lead and support community outreach. He is on the serve team at Crosspoint City Church, Board Member at the Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter, Red Door Food Pantry volunteer, and Bartow-Cartersville Chamber of Commerce Leadership Committee Member.

Tim has been a City Council Member since January 2019.

David Duncan

David attended the Atlanta Police Academy from September 1973 - January 1974 where he began his career in Law Enforcement. He retired from the Euharlee Police Department in December 2014 after serving fourteen years, ending forty-one years in Law Enforcement.

He married René in 1993 and moved to Euharlee in 1999. He quickly became involved in the community through the Covered Bridge Players which coordinated the Covered Bridge Festival, the Festival of Trees, the annual Euharlee Easter Egg Hunt; and assisting families in need. He is also involved with the Euharlee Veterans POW WOW. David is actively involved in Euharlee Baptist Church. He enjoys spending time with his children, grand-children, and great grand-children. His ideal way to relax is through hunting and fishing.

He was elected to the City Council in November 2015 and took office in January 2016.

Greg Free

A graduate of Cass High School, Greg served in the United States Navy. Greg followed his lifelong passion and calling to serve others, graduating from Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service with a degree in Mortuary Science. He is a licensed funeral director/embalmer in the State of Georgia.  He currently serves as General Manager of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery. He also is a Team Member with Kenyon International specializing in mass fatality/disaster incident response. Greg is married to Kim Marcus Free and two of their daughters, Ryleigh and Rowan, are currently at Woodland Middle. Greg and Kim recently welcomed the newest member of their family, a baby girl, Rhyse. The Free family are members of LifePoint Church in Cartersville where Greg serves on the Host Team and Security Team. Greg is past master of Acworth Lodge #176 F&AM and a member of Euharlee Lodge #457 F&AM. He volunteers with Red Door Food Pantry, Allatoona Charities, and other organizations.

Greg has been on the City Council since November 2020.

Joe Turner

After graduating from Sequatchie High School in Dunlap, Tennessee, Joe began his career in 1969 with the Cobb County Fire Department as a firefighter. He worked his entire career with the Cobb County FD and retired after 30 years of service in 1999.

After moving to Euharlee in 1983, Joe soon began serving on the City Council. He is our longest serving councilman, having been on the Council since 1988. Joe’s interest in serving on the City Council is to protect the past and control the future.

He is the previous owner of the famous JoJo's Market, which is still in operation today.

In his spare time, Joe loves to hunt and fish. He has won multiple bass fishing tournaments and enjoys his annual hunting trips in South Georgia and Alabama.

How Can We Help?

The City Council is the policy making body of the City of Euharlee.  City Council members serve for four (4) year staggered terms. The City Council approves the annual budget, all ordinances, resolutions and contracts in public meetings. The City Council is presided over by the Mayor and meets the 1st Tuesday of the month at City Hall. The public is welcome to attend these meetings.

The Council also holds a work session on the 3rd Tuesday each month. The agenda and subsequent minutes of both public meetings and work sessions for the current and previous year are available below. For records prior to this date range, please contact City Hall.
