Code Enforcement

Don Matthews,
Code Enforcement Officer

Don has worked in law enforcement since 1974. Before coming to Euharlee in March of 2021, he previously worked in code enforcement for the cities of Cedartown, Bowdon and Powder Springs. Prior to that, he worked for the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Don loves sports, especially his Georgia Bulldogs. He enjoys playing golf with his two sons. His favorite thing about Euharlee is that it’s a place where the citizens treat you like family. He looks forward to the city growing while also maintaining its strong family-friendly atmosphere.

How Can We Help?

The responsibilities of the Code Enforcement Office are most importantly to support the quality of life for Euharlee’s residents by enforcing compliance of the city’s building codes and ordinances.

Code Enforcement patrols, inspects, and conducts field investigations to determine compliance of properties with city codes and issue notices of violation or citations for non-compliance. If a problem occurs, this office will meet with owners, tenants, and developers to review and explain code requirements.

They are tasked with responding to complaints and coordinating with city staff, agencies, and municipal court.
