James Stephens, City Manager

James Stephens is Euharlee’s chief administrative official. He accepted the position of City Manager in March of 2016. Mr. Stephens brings to Euharlee over eight years of local government managerial experience, three years of governmental auditing experience and eight years of state governmental experience. He has a BBA degree from the University of West Georgia and a MAS in Accounting from Western Governors University. Additionally, Mr. Stephens has extensive private sector experience that is beneficial in economic development.

Mr. Stephens and Gina, his wife of over thirty-five years, have one daughter. He and his family enjoy camping, traveling, local sports and community events.

During his time as City manager, it has been Mr. Stephens' privilege to meet with many local groups, work with the Mayor and City Council and learn their priorities, as well as meet with and work closely with the city employees. He has been inspired by the level of community participation, as well as, equally impressed by the commitment of the City Staff.

How Can We Help?

The City Manager works closely with department and office directors to direct the operation of all municipal and city department functions, and ensures the city is operating in an efficient and fiscally sound manner. The City Manager is also responsible for presenting the City Council with an annual budget, and assists the Council with establishing long-term goals, developing policy proposals, and program alternatives.
