James Stephens, City Manager

James Stephens accepted the city manager position in March of 2016.

His qualifications include over eight years of local government manager experience, three years of governmental auditing experience and eight years of state government experience. James has a BBA degree from the University of West Georgia.

James and Gina, his wife of thirty years, have one daughter. He and his family enjoy camping and traveling.

Euharlee City Manager

The City Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of the following departments:

  • Police Department
  • Clerk’s Office
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Municipal Court
  • Planning and Zoning
  • Historic Preservation
  • Public Works
  • Senior Citizens

The City Manager performs as the CAO of government operations, reporting directly to the Mayor and City Council who serve as the board of directors.

Duties of the City Manager include:

  • Oversee budget development and adoption
  • Oversee personnel decisions
  • Coordinates and implements the city’s strategic and visioning plans
  • Oversee the City’s management team to implement policy set by the Mayor and City Council
