Chief Lee New

 

 

The Chief of Police is a supervisory and administrative position.

  • Chief New started his career with the Atlanta Police Department. Over the years he was there he worked numerous assignments including: Uniform patrol, Homicide Squad, Automobile Theft Squad, Vice Squad, Motorcycle Squad, Helicopter Squad, Narcotics Squad and Horse Patrol Squad to name a few. He retired after 28 years as Major.
  • Director of security for the Olympic Games.
  • Chief of Police for the Cobb County Police Department. He saw to the day to day operation and supervision of 650 officers and 100 support staff and implemented numerous new programs while operating within the budget established by the Cobb County Commission. He retired after serving for eight years.
  • Director of Security for Lake Arrowhead Yacht and Country Club in Waleska, Georgia.
  • Interim Chief of Police in Euharlee Georgia. Held this position for six months until a Chief of Police was selected.
  • Director of the Zell Miller Mountain Parkway Drug Task Force serving Pickens, Gilmer, and Fannin Counties.
  • Returned as interim Chief of Police in Euharlee December 03, 2016. Was appointed Chief of Police by the Euharlee Mayor and City Council on May 02, 2017.
  • Chief New is a graduate of the 94th session of the FBI National Academy. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in criminal Justice. He is a life member of the Georgia Chapter of the FBI National Academy Graduates Association. He is a life member of the Georgia Association Chiefs of Police.

Police Department Administrative Assistant, Kisha Rowland

Ms. Rowland has been with the city since 2013. She joined the Euharlee Police Department after working in the banking business.

The Police Department Administrative Assistant provides clerical support for the Chief and officers of the EPD.  

  • Submits Uniform Crime Reports
  • Submits accident reports to the state
  • Processes payment for: Incident Reports, Accident Reports, Citations, Criminal Histories, Fingerprinting
  • Allocate fuel expenses by department
  • Performs as a back-up for the Court Clerk as needed
  • Maintain (in conjunction with Chief) departmental checking account and AP for PD
